I started my karate journey at the age of 6 under the teachings of Sensei Caroline at Karate For Kids, first achieving his Junior Black Belt with IOGKF Australia at the age of 14. I have many years experience teaching kids’ martial arts for ages 3 to 18 and have since completed my Master of Teacher (Primary).
I use my studies of teaching to inform every aspect of kids' karate. Where traditional karate schools typically rely on rote-learning technique and punitive disciplinary measures, I practice student-centred "constructivist" learning and promote self-regulation without sacrificing the safety of the dojo.
I work very closely with parents to ensure their child's needs are met and that they can understand and track how their child is progressing. This includes catering for individualised learning needs so all students can develop according to their own abilities.
